What can you expect?
The City of Honolulu requires proof of vaccination including hardcopy, digital copy, or the Hawaii Smart Health Card for admission to the Aquarium. Face masks must be properly worn (covering the nose and mouth) at all times by all visitors over the age of 2. Limited timed ticketing is to reduce visitor density.
Foot-activated hand sanitizers are positioned throughout the facility. Guests are required to obey signage requiring a six-foot distance between individual visitors or different groups. Exhibits and all public spaces are disinfected frequently.
Guests must follow signage indicating the one-way route through the galleries. Touch screens, informational kiosks and other high-touch technologies will be decommissioned until further notice. Anyone not feeling well should reschedule their visit by calling (808)923-9741 .
No food or drink items are allowed in the galleries. The Hawaiian Monk Seal Habitat is temporarily closed. We’ve removed some exhibits to make more space.
Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Our facility is smoke-free. Usage of tobacco, including electronic cigarettes, on-site is prohibited. Comfort therapy animals and pets are not allowed. A Service Animal is allowed under specific direction of the admission desk staff.
Please Note
  • For guests who do not come prepared, face masks may be purchased at the Aquarium Gift Shop.
  • Clear acrylic barriers are now in place at the Front Desk and Gift Shop to minimize the potential spread of virus among guests, staff and volunteers.
  • We reserve the right to deny entry to any person(s). Please obey instructions provided by Aquarium Staff relating to the health and safety of our aquatic animals, staff and guests.
