Honolulu, Hawai’i (November 25, 2013) – Why swim through a sea of shoppers this holiday season? The perfect gift for families can be caught at the Waikiki Aquarium, now selling its Christmas Membership Gift Certificates. During a special holiday offer, guests can buy two Family Membership gift certificates and receive a 2014 Aquarium Marine Tide Calendar.

To celebrate the Aquarium’s 110th anniversary in 2014, members will have advance access and special discounts to functions throughout the year, plus these benefits:

  • A full year of free admission to the Aquarium
  • A year’s subscription to the quarterly publication Kilo i‘a
  • A 20 percent discount at The Shop at the Waikiki Aquarium (excluding books)
  • Discounts and advance notification about classes and educational programs
  • Invitations to exclusive member-only Aquarium events
  • Rental of the Aquarium for evening events and daytime birthday parties
  • Free saltwater pickup for home/office aquariums
  • Free or discounted admission to select aquariums and zoos around the country

 

The Aquarium will feature six membership gift certificates to choose from, including the Family Plus Membership for $85 (two adults, their children plus two guests), Family Membership for $60 (two adults plus their children under age 18), Grandparents Membership for $60 (two grandparents and up to six grandchildren under age 18), Individual Membership for $40, Senior Membership for $30 (age 65+) and Plus One Membership for $25 (members may add one additional person to their existing membership).

ABOUT THE WAIKIKI AQUARIUM
Founded in 1904 and administered by the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa since 1919, the Waikiki Aquarium is located right on Waikiki Beach next to a living reef and across from Kapiolani Park. The Aquarium – second oldest in the U.S. – showcases more than 500 marine species and maintains more than 3,500 marine specimens. Public exhibits, education programs and research focus on the unique aquatic life of Hawai’i and the tropical Pacific.
